"Onsemi provides assurance of supply for its SiC solutions and the necessary scale to support production," said Onsemi General Manager Simon Keaton.

The car, according to the chip company, consumes less than 10 kWh per 100 km, has a 100 kWh battery and the coefficient is 0.17. It claims that 95% of the energy stored in the traction battery reaches the wheels.

It “made a 1,202-kilometer journey from Stuttgart, Germany, to Silverstone, England, holding the record for the longest distance traveled on a single charge,” according to Onsemi, which has the entire SiC supply chain in-house: bullion growth, substrates, epitaxy, device manufacturing, modules and discrete packaging.
