Embedded has 10 Series 9004 processors, manufactured on a 5nm process, with 16-96 cores (see table) and consumes between 200 and 400 watts.

According to the company, the security features and reliability are suitable for applications with enterprise-class needs. .

"Built-in processors 9004 series are designed for heavy-duty, always-on embedded systems that demand compute performance and I/O flexibility in a power-optimized profile,” said Rajneesh Gaur, general manager of AMD Embedded Solutions. "With the Embedded 9004 series processors, we are bringing data center-level computing to embedded networking, security, storage and industrial applications."

  • An opaque connection that provides data exchange between two redundant CPUs
  • Support for non-volatile memory DIMM (NVDIMM) to save data in the event of a power failure
  • Dual SPI supports two off-chip ROMs for secure booting.
  • Planned availability up to seven years

Evaluation kits are available to "qualified customers," AMD said, with a reference board, documentation and development toolsets.

Processors are currently being selected and released. deliveries are scheduled for April 2023.
