"The establishment of the new satellite design center has allowed us to expand our physical footprint across three locations in the UK: Sedgefield, Leeds and now Manchester, and has also helped us attract engineering talent," said Filtronic CTO Tudor Williams.
The new hires include principal RF and filter design engineers, MMIC and PCB engineers, two graduate engineers, and two process engineers -- one of whom is an integrated systems specialist, according to the company.

"During the last quarter, Filtronic has secured three important new contracts worth a total of over £1.2m, and the expansion of our design engineering workforce will be key to maintaining and growing our leadership in RF and microwave technology."
