A floating wind turbine has reached the Canary Islands for months of testing

This is the third large-scale model equipped with a Vestas V29 turbine (225 kW), designed to demonstrate the floating platform called X30.

The X30 was designed to be towed on site by what X1 calls 'local vessels' #8217; and be moored at one point with a flexible mooring system (details below).

Although monopole platforms are more expensive to build, floating platforms allow offshore wind turbines to be installed at greater depths. waters than those firmly anchored on the seabed.
