A UK company has been awarded contracts - the commercial terms of which have not been disclosed - to provide tracking data for satellites in Geostationary Orbit (GEO) and to build a new national ground-based "Space Domain Information" system in Cyprus.

Data satellite tracking will be obtained using the Spaceflux global network of optical sensors covering ten locations on five continents. It will be used by UKSA and Space Command to monitor various satellites in geostationary orbit and for the general protection of UK space assets against collisions and any "congressional action".

Under the terms of the agreement, the company will build, maintain and operate the commissioned system under the guidance of analysts (UKSA and UK Space Command) from the UK Space Operations Center at RAF High Wycombe.
