Science Secretary George Freeman and Transport Technology Secretary Jesse Norman joined representatives from the UK space agency to meet the people behind the mission from the spaceport and see Virgin Orbit's LauncherOne rocket and its Cosmic Girl launch vehicle.
The launch is still set to take place "a month later this year" but the date has yet to be confirmed.
Virgin Orbit has previously completed a launch for the UK and said it is ready for flight at Cornwall Spaceport.
