QS-1 will fly in cission space primarily around two Earth-Moon-Lagrange points 1 and 2, or EM-L1 and EM-L2, to help establish a commercial Quantum activity. Mission objectives will include production of space domain data, deployment of customer payloads, advanced cission navigation techniques, and autonomous station maintenance.

The mission will use commercial ground station networks for space-to-ground communications, with mission and payload control from the Quantum Command Center.
