Exobotics wins contract to build GenMat reconnaissance satellite

Described as a multi-million pound deal, the satellite - the first of the planned GenMat constellation - is scheduled to launch later this year aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle.

In particular, Exobotics will design, manufacture and test the CubeSat satellite platform with payload for hyperspectral images. He will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end production of the satellite platform at the company's London engineering laboratories.

The satellite will monitor the earth in search of materials and minerals for identification. new search locations, and GenMat's ultimate goal is to map all of Earth's minerals into a searchable database of advanced materials, including semiconductors.
