Infineon aims for ISO/SAE 21434 automotive cybersecurity with MCU family

Originally announced in January, the 'TC4xx' family of MCUs will carry proprietary 'Aurix' branding, feature a "new cybersecurity architecture," Infineon said, and "the family is expected to receive product certification according to the ISO/SAE 21434 standard".

<p>The 28nm microcontrollers are built around the company's 32-bit TriCore 1.8 cores, as well as accelerators including a new parallel processing unit (PPU) and vector DSP SIMD that can be used for AI algorithms. The domain and zone architectures of vehicles provide a variety of use cases such as real-time control and radar post-processing.
