Sierra Space, UC San Diego, promises to advance biotechnology research and development in microgravity

The space transportation specialist – which is based in Sparks, Nevada – announced the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of California. They aim to create what they describe as the First Stem Cell Research Institute cells in space

The two organizations say they will collaborate to expand the university's Integrated Space Stem Cell Orbital Research (ISSCOR) program, which currently operates on the International Space Station.

Orbital Reef is a planned commercial low Earth orbit (LEO) space station announced by a consortium of companies including Blue Origin, founded by Jeff Bezos.
