It is with great sadness that MACOM Technology Solutions Holdings, Inc. ("MACOM") (Nasdaq: MTSI) announces the death of John Ocampo, Chairman of the Board of Directors (the "Board"). John's contributions to the semiconductor industry, education, and philanthropy have helped make the world a better place.

John was working director and chairman of the board since the foundation of MACOM in March 2009. John was the co-founder and president of GaAs Labs, LLC ("GaAs Labs"), a technology investment firm. Prior to founding GaAs Labs, John co-founded Sirenza Microdevices, Inc. ("Sirenza"), a Nasdaq-listed provider of RF semiconductors and components for the communications, aerospace and defense markets. Leading Sirenza through its successful IPO and eventual sale to RF Micro Devices, Inc., John served in key roles, including Sirenza's President and Chief Executive Officer, Chief Technical Officer and Chairman.

"We won with an upset," said Stephen G. Daley, president and chief executive officer of MACOM. “John was a man of integrity, curiosity, intelligence, compassion and generosity. He was a mentor and a friend, and we have all learned many invaluable lessons from him over the years. John's passing will be deeply felt by MACOM and the many people and lives he impacted. On behalf of the Board and all of MACOM's staff, I would like to extend our deepest condolences to Susan Ocampo and their families and friends at this difficult time."
