BMP585 (right) is a rugged, liquid-resistant barometer for altitude tracking in wearable devices.

Thanks to the waterproof gel coating it can be exposed to salt and chlorinated pool water &#8211 ; as well as dust, for example, as part of a vacuum cleaner.

"It incorporates all the features of the existing BMP581 pressure sensor with comparable accuracy, while providing the reliability required for new use cases," according to the company. "The sensor measures the change in height by only a few centimeters. Therefore, it can detect movements during fitness training, down to the level of individual pull-ups or push-ups.”
